The tea of Ogose Farm has been grown by the owner of the tea farm, Haruo Ogose, for more than 15 years without using any pesticides, fertilizers, synthetic materials, or microorganisms.

From mid-October to early November, we start harvesting the tea leaves for hojicha ( roasted green tea ) .

It's A Lively, Fun Season.

Around June, right after the first tea is harvested, we do a process called ” Otoshi ( cutting down )”.

April and May is the season for harvesting the first tea leaves.

Tea trees begin to grow roots in late February. By then, I amend the soil where the trees are not growing well or where the soil is hard. The roots of the tea tree will grow better if air and water are allowed to penetrate the soil.

The work I do in January is mostly maintenance work in the tea fields. During the winter, wild boars make holes in the ground in order to eat worms and insects. Also, farm roads sometimes collapse.
